LAST NIGHT'S TITANIC BATTLE BETWEEN THE BIG TWO
I for one am still undecided. Is Joey even a half-decent follow-up to Friends? It's not terrible, but it's certainly not must-see-TV. On the other hand neither was Friends in the final couple of seasons.
So the really big question posed in our house last night was is it even as good as Will & Grace? I was never really a fan, but I accidentally caught the season premier a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. By last night however it just seemed to have devolved into the same old predictable stereotypes and lame humor. So far I think Joey probably has the edge.
To be honest, I was really looking forward to the Apprentice last night afterwards for some guaranteed enjoyable television but for some reason it wasn't even on.

WHY DAN RATHER HAS TO GO
As I wrote just yesterday, I am no longer all that bothered about the few token biased Liberals in the media, so I am not out for Dan Rather's blood on that basis. And having read Bernie Goldberg's sympathetic, almost adulatory portraiture of his CBS father-figure Mr Rather in Goldberg's Bias I gained a deal of respect for Rather rare perhaps among conservatives, particularly considering Mr Rather's frankly bizarre, even offensive, personal life. However I still think Mr Rather should resign his position in the wake of recent stories, and I will tell you why.
It seems perfectly obvious that the plainly fake documents Rather used to raise awareness of the President's peculiar military career were fed to him as part of some shadowy plot aimed at undermining the democratic process. And Mr Rather allowed himself to work in cahoots with these underhand elements.
Since the documents' veracity seem to have been unable to withstand even the very barest of skeptical scrutiny, what are we to make of the fact that Mr Rather and his team even broadcast them in the first place and then - most gallingly - stood by them for so long?
The fix is in, my friends. Ask yourself:
Is Dan Rather so dumb he thought these documents were genuine? I don't think so.
Is he so dumb he thought he would get away with it? Again hardly likely.
*Therefore* Rather must have known exactly what would happen with the debate over the President Bush's shaky war record being totally obscured by the furor over these fake documents.
The only question now is "Why?" Well think about it - who above all else wants President Bush to defeat John Kerry in the forthcoming election?
That's right: Hillary Clinton.
It seems hardly debateable that Hillary Clinton persuaded Dan Rather to run a story designed to obscure President Bush's dismal war record thus dooming John Kerry to defeat and setting the stage for the Clinton's triumpal return to the Whitehouse in 2008.
And that's why Dan Rather must go.
Just remember folks. You heard it here first.

WHY I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING ABOUT LIBERAL BIAS IN THE MEDIA
At the behest of a few of my vitriolic readers who suggested in various anonymous emails that I ought to (a) kill myself (b) get a genital enhancement operation or (c) stop typing such a load of uneducated old rubbish and actually read some books, I (after dithering over (b) and (c)) decided to take a trip to the local library.
I picked up a really surprising book by a fiery young turk called David Brock called The Right Wing Noise Machine, partly because I was afraid someone had penned my unauthorized biography. This ground-breaking book basically persuaded me what many of my Liberal readers have attempted in the past and failed to do - the Liberal Media bias isn't really all that powerful.
In a nutshell, as I learned, a beneficent old sugar daddy called Richard Mellon Scaife basically pulls enough strings around the country and throws enough money at right wing think tanks and media outlets to completely overwhelm the comparatively disorganized and underfunded Liberal media. As I result of discovering this I have found myself a lot less angry than I used to be. Basically I would suggest to my conservative readers who find themselves fulminating red faced and furious about the Liberal media bias to pick up a copy of The Right Wing Noise Machine and it will help you sleep at night.
The author David Brock has a luminous history in the conservative movement having written the impeccably researched and written The Real Anita Hill. This will go down as surely the defining work on the controversial appointment of pornography afficianado Clarence Thomas to the Supreme Court as a sop to the Liberals who demanded someone who shared their obsessions on the highest court in the land.
Mr Brock also wrote a very fine autobiography "Blinded by The Right - The Conscience of an Ex-Conservative" which I picked up the other day and am still reading. If you want to read a fine example of a lifelong commitment to the cause of conservatism in this country then this is it.
One small quibble though - I am tired of trying to figure out all these new labels people are giving to different strands of conservativism these days. No sooner has my head stopped hurting after I tried to work out the difference between a "neo-conservative", a "radical-conservative" and a "classical conservative" than Mr Brock declares himself an "Ex-conservative" just to add more confusion to the matter. (Maybe this something to do with "Generation Ex" which my grandson Justin is always talking about?! Beats me!)
Can we please all just recognize we are all part of one big happy family of Conservatives and stop splitting hairs about it please!

IT'S NO WONDER YOU DON'T HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!
You're wasting your life, son. Cruising here looking for naked photos of Fox News reporter Kiran Chetry is not the way a young man ought to be passing his evenings. Go out of your house, go to a social event or bar (if you're over 21) or maybe the local bowling alley and talk to an actual real life woman. Even if you get knocked back (and considering the way you have been honing your social skills lately it would be a miracle if you didn't!) you might learn something from the experience.
Anyway, it wouldn't do you any harm anyway to feel the hot sting of the back of a young lady's hand - it might even knock some sense into you. You might think that seems too much like hard work and just squinting at pictures of young newsreaders and trying to picture them out of their clothes is a much more satisfactory way of working off those hormonal overloads but surely you don't think that's a viable long-term solution to your lonely and pathetic predicament?
It's just typical of your generation that you can't think past your next digitally enhanced onanistic frenzy and about the path you're setting yourself up for the future. I remember when I was about your age I had to put in weeks of self-abasing and humiliating groundwork just to get to permission to hold a young lady's hand! And believe it or not I considered that it was worth it. I blame MTV (and the fact that you never leave your bedroom) for putting into your heads the idea that only women who aren't completely flawless are worth bothering with. Those Playboy images are all airbrushed and digitally manipulated you know - no one really looks like that. I heard Carmen Electra has a mustache like an Iraqi general!
Why don't you face up to these facts - almost 50% of women are below average lookswise. (Many of these are just plain ugly). And while you are sitting there with your trousers round your ankles trying to find pictures of "kirna chetry nude", your less socially handicapped peers are snapping up all the better ones. Every day that ticks by you are coming closer to finding yourself left with a woman who looks less like Fox News' Kiran Chetry and a lot more like Fox News Greta Van Susteren!
So stop coming to my site looking for photos of naked women and get out there into the real world. Who knows, one day you might actually see a real life naked woman (without having to set up a webcam in your college dormitories).
[I must apologize to all my readers who DID NOT come here looking for naked pictures of Kiran Chetry but I have recently been forced to acknowledge that such readers may be in something of a minority. A quick perusal of my stats link shows that 100%, 20 out of 20, of the last people who have come to this site via a search engine did so using a "Kiran Chetry" related search. For the last 20 referrers as a whole only 4 were not Kiran Chetry related. So that's 80% of all referrers. I don't want to turn this blog entirely into a forum denouncing the anti-social effects of internet-related Fox News-inspired auto-eroticism, but if that's what it takes to remould my audience demographic, then maybe that's a task I will have to take on!]

A TRAITOR IN OUR MIDST!
Protester hauled to jail after confronting Cheney
So much for the watertight security at the GOP Convention eh?! Seems to me there must be some turncoats on the turnstiles when you realize that on three successive nights Republican speechifying has been interrupted by crazed, left-wing liar liberals with their phony claims and their undermining of America.
But last night things really got out of hand. I nearly fell out of my chair when I realized that a lying sleazebag Democrat demonstrator had managed to duck the security for long enough to actually get on stage and make a speech. I can only assume Security had either been massively infiltrated by Liberals. Or else they were too stunned to do anything to remove the interloper.
Don't believe me? Check these two photographs and tell me these two people aren't one and the same?
Having a strong stomach, I was able to listen to Miller's lies and treacheries - but it took a lot of effort not to throw something at the screen. Miller was like Alger Hiss and Benedict Arnold all rolled into one!
I don't have the time to dissect every one of Miller's despicable lies and distortions but I'll go for a couple:
Miller:
"Senator Kerry opposed...the Patriot Missile that shot down Saddam Hussein's scud missiles over Israel"
Reality Check:
"[An] investigation done by the General Accounting Office found that only 9 percent of the Patriot-Scud engagements "are supported by the strongest evidence that an engagement resulted in a warhead kill."
...a number of the Patriots were just wounding Scuds or pushing them off course; big chunks of both missiles then fell to the ground. In Israel, the amount of damages and casualties increased after the Patriots were deployed there."
So what do we conclude - that Senator Kerry opposed the missile that increased Israeli casualties in the Gulf War?! Sounds not just a lily-livered pansy but a damned anti-Semite to boot!
Miller:
"As a Senator, [Kerry] voted to to deny protective armor for our troops in harms way, far away."
This is a grotesque distortion of the truth as Miller must well know. How he can portray his statements as based on conscience when they are in fact a strained and wilful misrepresentation of reality is beyond me.
What happened was Kerry voted against an $87 billion bill that included $20 billion of dubiously allocated reconstruction money. Kerry was in favor of the initial version of the bill which would have aided the military without the pork-barrelling but he voted against the final version. (Miller doesn't note that GW Bush also threatened to veto the same bill if the money was granted as a loan instead of as aid. Does that mean GW Bush would send troops into harms way without the best body armor available? Are you CRAZY!)
Miller's criticism here is about as fair and conscionable as describing someone who voted against a bill to feed ground corpses to Iraqi babies as "voting to deny food to children".
Anyway I just hope in time for the next GOP convention - perhaps in the lead-up to Jenna's nomination and eventual inauguration - we have some better crowd-control and keep these sleazy, self-serving, lying underhand treacherous Democrats completely OUT of the building, but most definitely OFF the stage!

Tonight I will talk about this good man and his fine record leading our country. And I may say a word or two about his opponent. I am also mindful that I have an opponent of my own. People tell me that Senator Edwards got picked for his good looks, his sex appeal, and his great hair. I say to them, "How do you think I got the job?"
For those of you (Liberals probably) who didn't get the joke let me explain it to you.

A FUTURE PRESIDENT IS BORN!
What an exhilarating performance last night by someone who is surely one of the brightest stars ever to grace a national political convention. What delivery! What passion! What garbled pronunciation! To think that only a couple of years ago this person was laughed at as a contender for future political office.
Yet now who could ever doubt that the GOP is bound to thrust Jenna Bush toward the future presidency. Let's face it - beside Jenna, GW looks like a mumbling, incoherent buffoon!
In stark contrast to Jenna, I couldn't help thinking that Barbara Bush (the younger) came across as a bit of an addled airhead. (Presumably Jenna got the family brains. While Barbara Jnr got the tendancy towards pharmaceutical over-indulgence!)
Vive the Bush clan and onwards to Jenna for the Whitehouse 2008!!!
